Get Involved

Keen to get involved with Project Twins Stream on the Opanuku Stream? Here’s how:

Come along to a Friends of the Opanuku Stream working bee on the third Saturday of every month. Ask us where to go this month.
Join our mailing list to keep up to date with news and events from the stream.
Adopt an area of the stream. If you are part of a community group who want maintain a section of the stream, get in touch.

Here are some other ways to do your bit for your local stream:

Get on your bike! Cars are one of the biggest sources of pollution for our waterways. Cyclinginstead of driving stops toxic chemicals, grease and oil from your car getting washed down the storm water drains and into the streams.
Keep paint and household chemicals out of your storm water drains. The Hazmobile is a free service that will safely dispose of hazardous waste, and some retailers such asResene paints will take care of it for you.
If you see signs of pollution in a stream, call the Pollution hotline
