Voices from the Stream

This oral history documentary celebrates the origins of Project Twin Streams.

Twenty six original contributors to the project shared their recollections and vision. At the recent launch of this documentary celebrating 15 years of Project Twin Streams, Creative Director Anna Fomison commented, “it was wonderful to bring all the original voices of such a deeply complex, passionate and impressive project together and to see how their vision has succeeded.”

Over the last 15 years the project has welcomed over 15,000 volunteers who – together with four contracted community organisations Community Waitakere, EcoMatters, MPHS and Te Ukaipo – have planted over 800,000 native plants. The project has encompassed environmental restoration, creative arts and education to engage West Auckland communities and inspire sustainability and connectedness.
