How Millbrook Edible Garden Works:

The four middle beds are tended by the Walsh Trust. When the produce is mature, we either give it to the Walsh Trust people who’ve done the work or, if they’re not around at the time, we’ll put it on the shelves here and you can take it home for your family with our blessing.

Please don’t cut or take the vegetables or the seedlings out of the garden!

The outer beds are managed by individual members of our local community. They’re growing food for their families and we’re learning together. If they have more than they need, they’ll put it on the shelvesPlease don’t cut or take the vegetables or the seedlings out of their gardens.

If you would like to have a plot here and grow food for your family, come along on a Wednesday or Saturday at 10am and we’ll set you up.

It’s really important you leave it up to us to harvest the food when it’s fully mature. That way it’s a much bigger vegetable, it will feed more people, and it means our systems don’t get interrupted.

We would like to grow more food, so we can share more food with you all, so we’re looking at developing the back area for that.

The key thing is we’re doing this together. We want to share nutrient-dense organically-grown vegetables with as many people as possible in our community, so please let us do our work.

Come and join us. He rau ringa e oti ai! Many hands make light work!
