Hot pot holes…
This art exploded on a hot spot blind corner along the Opanuku stream cycleway a couple of weeks ago – until it was quickly extinguished by the rain.
Ephemeral artworks like this have been appearing and fading across Auckland. Auckland Transport contracted a chalk artist to do the works to promote safety and consideration on the cycle ways – to promote them as shared paths.
The message = ‘Slow Down – Hot Spot!’. For more safe and considerate use of these great paths cyclists are asked to use their bells, and pedestrians are asked to keep left. Dog walkers must be responsible for their dogs which should be kept on short leads – and everyone is asked to give way to anyone who travels more slowly than them.
